New member joins Bausch + Ströbel management

From 1 July, 2013 the management of Bausch + Ströbel Maschinenfabrik Ilshofen will be shouldered by three managing directors. The managing partners Siegfried Bullinger and Markus Ströbel will then have additional support by the appointment of Dr. Hagen Gehringer.

Dr. Hagen Gehringer will be in charge of the technical division which has been the responsibility of Siegfried Bullinger along with the production division. Siegfried Bullinger will continue to manage the latter division which comprises, among other things, the Machine Shop and the departments Assembly, Logistics and Technical IT. Markus Ströbel remains responsible for the sales and commercial division.
"We used to have three managing directors in previous years" recalls Siegfried Bullinger, "and after the rapid growth of the company in recent years - in Ilshofen alone we now have over 1000 employees - we have decided to take this necessary step. The new management composition will also facilitate the transition of the company management to the next generation with as little loss of know-how as possible." The partners of the family owned enterprise, the families Ströbel and Bullinger, are sure to have found a person who suits the Bausch + Ströbel family and the corporate philosophy very well. The new managing director is well qualified for his new task. Dr. Gehringer, who is 47 years old, studied Mechanical Engineering at Stuttgart University and finished both his degree and his doctorate with a top grade. He wrote his doctoral thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation where he was employed for six years as research associate. Until 2011, he worked for Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG and set up the department of Innovation Management, Product Strategy and Management Control, and he was a senior executive and head of the Corporate Development division. In 2011, he joined the management of the PDX Businessgroup, a stock market listed technological start-up company with the core technologies atomisation and solid-liquid and liquid-liquid material blending. "The attraction of the new task in Ilshofen for me is the active participation in structuring a successful enterprise which still has room for growth” said Dr. Hagen Gehringer. The engineer by passion is also looking forward to applying his technical knowledge more intensively in his new position.

New research department met with positive feedback

Visitors from all over the world were recently guests at Bausch+Ströbel in Ilshofen. From 18 to 20 June, the manufacturer of special machinery had invited customers for its in-house exhibition – and more than 500 visitors from about 30 countries came to experience state-of-the-art technology in new premises. During this event, Bausch+Ströbel not only presented the new assembly building complex that had recently been completed, but also the brand-new laboratory and research facilities constructed in the course of this new building project.
A section of the new assembly building had been converted into an exhibition area including a lounge for the in-house show. The visitors were not only able to have a look at technology made by Bausch+Ströbel. Exhibitors also included the new subsidiary Wilco and the partner companies GMPI and HVS ("Hohenloher Verpackungs-Service") from the neighbouring village of Wolpertshausen. Furthermore, the Excellence United partners were present with information stands and contact persons for the customers. At Uhlmann and Harro Höfliger the in-house shows took place at the same time and quite a lot of visitors took the opportunity to see several companies, making use of the free shuttle service.
Bausch+Ströbel showed an attractive cross-section of their machine range - such as the compact, fully automatic cartridge filling and packaging line, powder dosing equipment or a syringe filling and closing machine with a robot for later nest removal and further processing as well as the new remote service system. Moreover the customers were able to gain insight into the possibilities provided by 3-D animations of machines, a technology known as virtual reality, which can be used as an alternative to wooden mock-ups, i.e. machine models in original size.
The new area for research and trials also met with positive feedback from the visitors. All in all, this department comprises four laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology, two of which can be used as clean rooms. Interesting innovations were demonstrated in theses facilities during the exhibition. These included, among other things, a small peristaltic pump (patent pending) that can be set up for operation much more easily than its predecessor, a method with which glass can be provided with durable markings prior to the sterilizing process, special cleaning nozzles and a special dosing system working with a tremendously high accuracy. The exhibition was rounded off by a gala evening and a series of lectures.
